La experiencia del conflicto que rastreamos en la obra de Schopenhauer no es la del campo de batalla sino la del combate que se libra en uno mismo. Ahora bien, el conflicto de la voluntad en la propia existencia no es sino la llave de comprensión de la repetida lucha que la Voluntad mantiene consigo misma en el mundo. De ahí que una hermenéutica de la existencia, tal y como la metafísica de Schopenhauer propone, haga patente la esencia de toda forma de guerra.
It is not the experience of the conflict in the battlefield the one that we look into Schopenhauer’s works, but the one that is held in oneself. Nevertheless, the conflict of the will in the own experience is the key of understanding for the never-ending fight that the Will maintains with itself. Therefore, the hermeneutics of the existence present in Schopenhauer’s metaphysics shows the essence of any kind of war.
