Abstract

Martin Heidegger's only collaboration was with the Basque sculptor, Eduardo Chillida. The text "Art and Space" (1969) that resulted is discussed in relation to Chillida's aesthetics and the implicit phenomenological orientation shared by both and their response to the same question about the nature of place.
