In this essay I aim to analyze the discursive strategies that Martin Heidegger carries out in his lectures, specifically analyzing dark and cryptic phrases like „the Nothing noths“. I will seek to demonstrate that this type of hermetic sentences are not a mere game of words, but originate from a discursive strategy: generating a space for thought. To demonstrate this hypothesis, I will focus, as a case study, on the conference „What is metaphysics?“ (1929). Heidegger does not explain or theorize this discursive strategy, therefore, I will use Gilles Deleuze‘s reflections on writing as an interpretive framework to analyze the method of the german philosopher in his lectures.
