Abstract

This Tribune addresses novel issues related to the social social protection of remote work. The latest ILO report (July 2021) points out that social protection is at a crossroads (States have to choose between increasing or restricting spending on social protection). The digitization of the economy and society in times of pandemic brings with it the rise of remote work among people who decide to provide services under international mobility. This Tribune deals with the reception of these forms of remote provision in Global Europe in need of the reception of entrepreneurs and new initiatives that activate the economy. Somehow the need arises to include these remote tasks in the framework of social protection that contributes to the maintenance of the Welfare State.
