IMPACT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON FORENSIC PRACTICE. Cáceres, 12th and 13th February 2026.
The Judicial School of the Regional Labour Court of the 7th Region, together with the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation of Extremadura and the High Court of Justice of Extremadura, are honoured to present the ‘II Lebrón de Quiñones Spanish-Brazilian Meeting – Impacts of Artificial Intelligence on Forensic Practice’. This international event also enjoys the collaboration of various political, legal, economic, social and academic-cultural entities, which reinforce the plurality of perspectives and the quality of the debates.
The Second Meeting is designed as a unique forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences between magistrates, academics, lawyers and researchers from Brazil and Spain. Its aim is to deepen academic and institutional dialogue between the two countries, addressing one of the most challenging and topical issues of our time: the application of artificial intelligence in forensic practice and its repercussions on access to justice, data protection, cybersecurity and the usefulness of judges and civil servants.
It will feature highly renowned specialist speakers and moderators from the judicial and academic spheres in both Spain and Brazil. This will enable a high-level comparative debate, enriched by the diversity of legal traditions and critical reflection on the ethical, legal and practical challenges of using new technologies in judicial activity.
The event will be held in person at the San Francisco Cultural Complex in Cáceres (Spain) on 12 and 13 February 2026, promoting direct interaction between participants and offering the opportunity to consolidate academic, professional and institutional cooperation networks.
As well as the round-table discussions, attendees will be able to take part in technical visits and cultural activities, which will give them an insight into the region's historical and legal heritage, enriching the educational and social aspects of the meeting.
The Second Lebrón de Quiñones Spanish-Brazilian Meeting continues a successful experience that began in collaboration with the Judicial Schools of the 14th and 24th Regions of Brazil (First Spanish-Brazilian Meeting on Legal Practice: Technology and the Judicial System, in 2023), reaffirming the integrative vocation of the judiciary and its commitment to building bridges of dialogue with leading universities and research centres at the international level.
It thus presents itself as a privileged space for reflection, learning and supranational cooperation, projecting new perspectives for understanding the impacts of artificial intelligence on law and anticipating the future of forensic practice in both Spain and Brazil.
