Abstract
The following article is a topic little studied on the history of the viceroyalties of Peru and Río de la Plata in spite of its importance. The free interaction and extraction of goods and metals route Buenos Aires (1770-1810) was one of the first measures done by the the Rio de la Plata viceroy, Pedro de Ceballos, to demonstrate its economic and politics independence of the viceroyalty of Peru. In the first moment, it meant a great blow for the economy of Lima merchants and that served to grow the legend of the great political power of Pedro de Ceballos in the Indies.
