Resumen

La Campana de Oropesa y Cuatro Villas, in the western sector of the province of Toledo, faces a severe demographic decline, influenced by the lack of essential services and economic opportunities. This study analyses the relationship between the provision of services and population dynamics through a multifactorial approach that includes socio-demographic and economic analyses, qualitative interview results and future projections. The initial survey has identified critical gaps in services, connectivity and local policies, providing a solid basis for assessing the impact of these factors on ageing and depopulation. The findings underline that improving the distribution of services and fostering diversified economic development are key to mitigating rural exodus and attracting new inhabitants. This approach reinforces the need for strategic public policies to revitalise the region and halt regressive trends.
