Abstract

The development of engraving in Spain since the establishment ofDemocracy and the social evolution of middle and professional classes had a decisive importance for the star-up of a artist group in which sorne of the most recognized avant-garde artists took part. The development of Palmo engravers group is studied from its foundation in 1978 to its end in 1987. We analyze its foundational philosophy, influences, activities and, finally, the political interference in its internal organization, which hastenedits dissolution.
