Abstract

The church of San Juan de los Caballeros of Jerez de la Frontera, has been used for a long time as a place for burying the most importan! families in the town. In the XVIII th century they still used to do it, so that the marquis of Alcántara who was living in Écija (Seville) in this time, aplied for being awarded with a chapel and an altarpiece for being buried himself and his descendants.
