Abstract

The influence of Architecture Treatises on Spanish silversmiths of de second half of the Sixteenth Century is every day held in greater esteem by the specialists. In this essay we contribute to a detailed analiysis of the great impact of ltalian theory on the first procession monstrances of the Cordovan sil versmith Francisco de Alfaro. With these basic works Andalusian silversmithing begins early, during the seventies, the profitable way to Michelangelo mannerism applied to the silver microarchitecture
