Abstract

Upon proceeding with dismantling of the main alter of the church in Cala for its restauration, part of the antique mural decoration in the presbytery has become visible. At first sight, one can make out the representation of an alterpiece, dated from 1521, with the figures of various apostles, Mary Magdelena and scenes of the life of this saint; also visible is an angel, the symbol of the Saint Mathew the Evangelist and other remains, corresponding to a prior stage; as well as sorne elements of another samll alterpiece.
