The circular letter, dated 25th of November 1777, tried to abolish the Baroque aesthetics of Spanish religious art and to impose the Neoclassical «good taste». However, its application found many obstacles. The case of Seville is a good example. The first altarpiece made following the new rules was not built until 1793. It was the main altarpiece of Omnium Sanctorum Parish Church, that was made of stucco giving up the gilt wood. In this article, its complex construction process is detailed and their authors are pointed out. Besides, keys are given to know how and why the Neoclassical style was introduced into the Archbishopric of Seville.
