Toe origin of modern bullfighting "on foot" began as mockeries to the bulls made by the workers of the slaughter house of Seville. These exercises were part of their pastime and was an athletic discipline, practiced during the confinement of the cattle, and before their Iater sacrifice in the municipal slaughter house. In this article we study the place of these so called "suertes" and their transformation to adapt it to a bullfighting public celebration. This celebration, from the beginning of the 16th century, had the recognition of the city of Seville, and for that reason the two first bullfighting constructions were made: the first one was destined to the presidency of the civilian authorities and the second one was an attempt to construct a stand or row of seats for the public. In this article we study those constructions, which will be the origin of the definitively outlined bullfighting buildings in the 18th century, through the news included in annals of the city and literary texts, the municipal documentation, the
maps and a set of paintings.
