Francisco López Caro is a painter mainly known because he was an apprentice to Francisco Pacheco and a partner of Diego Velázquez in Seville; as well as because of bis dedication to still life painting, a novel genre in Seville during the first decades of the Seventeenth century. This article involves a documentary contribution to bis catalogue as an artist specialized in a pictorial genre that was highly demanded by the clientele of the moment. We stand out the singular nature of the contrae! introduced here, which was signed by the outstanding sculptor Juan Martínez Motañés.
