The murals which decorate the presbytery and the dome of the temple of the Dominicans of Arahal were done by Estanislao Caro, a Sevillian painter who worked in the zone of Utrera fairly frequently during the second half of the 18th century. His style reflects the painting style predominan! during the first half of the 18"' century, under the influence of Lucas Valdés and Domingo Martínez, although he did also introduce his own Rococco forms. These paintings, signed and dated in 1755, are the first autographed works identified and thus constituting a point from which other works of the moment could he attributed to him.
