The silver covers of the Roncesvalles Gospel book are among the most outstanding pieces of Medieval silverwork in the kingdom of Navarre. In this paper we pose their possible origin or, al least, the training of the artist who made them in any of the workshops of Cologne or its environs, judging from a documentary and historiographic revision as well as from a stylistic and iconographic analysis of the work.
