This paper examines new unpublished documents related to the 16th Century decoration of the Seville Town Hall: the contract, signed in 1541 by a seemingly unknown artist, Santiago de Pesquera, to sculpt one of the royal fi gures for the “Cabildo Bajo” ceiling, and the obligation for the carving of the “Cabildo Alto” entrance doors, a contract signed by the fl emish artist Juan Giralte in 1571. In the third part of the article, some additional documental material is published for the fi rst time as a contribution to complete Giralte’s catalogue of lost works.
