Abstract

The article analyzes the plastic work of the artist Joaquim Chancho (Riudoms, Tarragona. 1943.), dedicating a special attention to the links established in his works related to writing and calligraphy as expression vehicles tied to the image. The refl ection on the continuous discussion between reason versus expression, turns into the starting point for a study where is outlined the importance of the spelling in the contemporary art as generate piece for a gradual dissociate of the mimesis and a special approximation to more conceptual productions.
