The ‘22nd of January, 1867, the demolition of the walls of Seville, that spread from the Sun Gate to the Gate of Córdoba began. This decision taken by the Town Council was opposed to the Provincial Committee of Monuments ‘opinion. This fact originated several writing of protest and reports gathered together in a file to be sent to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, in order to stop the demolition. As a part of these documents, some unknown photographs of this section of the wall can be found, showing the damages caused in walls and towers
