On 1679, D. Pedro de Paiva, twenty-four of Seville and member of the Order of Calatrava, becoming echo of the desire expressed by his father the Portuguese merchant Diego de Paiva in its testament of 1669, founded the familiar funeral chapel on sacristy of the sevillian school of Santo Ángel, of Carmelite barefoot, contracting with Pedro Roldán the execution of the altarpiece that had to preside over its front.
