Documents are provided about the construction of a silver processional throne for Écija´s Patroness, the Virgen del Valle, built in Córdoba in 1634 by the silversmith Gonzalo de Alcántara, and was dismantled in 1772 in order to create a large altarpiece or carro triunfal (triumphal chariot) on which worship to the image.
