The beginning of the XIX century, characterized by the Napoleonic occupation and the harmful consequences caused to the cultural Heritage, allowed the fulfi llment of restorations of works affected by the reshuffl e of such an occupation. An example was the Sevillian painter Diego Mateo del Parque who participated in relevant artistic works such as the paintings from Murillo in the Charity Hospital, the birth of the Virgin or the triptych of the Ecce Homo of the Sevillian Cathedral among others.
