THE ‘CORONATION OF OUR LADY’ PAINTING AT ST. MICHAEL’S PARISH CHURCH, MARCHENA

Abstract

In the church of San Miguel of Marchena is found a painting of the Coronation of the Virgin by the Holy Trinity is found that by its stylistic particularities we attribute the painter novohispano José of Páez. This iconographic theme had a great acceptance in the artistic circles of the baroque latin-american one existing in different peninsular heritages some samples that have permitted to document this work inside the viceregal style.
