THE MODEL OF THE FORUM AUGUSTUM IN THE DECORATIVE PROGRAMS IN HISPANIC CAPITALS’ AND ITALICA’S SACRED PLACES

Abstract

The continuous archaeological campaigns realized in the three provincial capitals of the ancient Hispania
and Italica, have shown a numerous group of architectural and sculptural materials that help us to set up their originals sacred places. Through a select and meaningful group of pieces, this study aims to address the differences and similarities between the iconographical and decorative programs of the main religious centers of these cities and the Forum Augustum in Roma, presented as the constructive and symbolical main reference.
