Abstract

The works for the termination of the southwest facade of the Sevillian Cathedral brought about a certain controversy in local artistic circles during the first decades of the 20th century. For this reason, Francisco J. de Luque's design serves as an example of the restoration theories of those times, which so closely reflected the architectural mentality of a fundamental period of Sevillian art.
