The architectural work of Jerónimo Balbás is well-known to art historians, and particularly to specialists in Latin-American art. However, not ali the work documented has actually been seen by the authors, insome cases not even in illustrations. Such was the case with the Mausoleum erected to Luis XIV in the church of the Convent of San Francisco, in the Casa Grande of Seville. The planof the Mausoleum, unknown until recently, is published here of the first time. This work was executed in November 1715 and demostrates the almost Churrigueresque Baroque of its creator, who developed this tendency in his Mexican architecture from 1719 onwards.
