Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of part of the photo archive of Brazilian writer Monteiro Lobato's children's literature as a methodology using the relationship between photography and literature. These photographs are interpreted as situations develop over time and reveal some important elements for understanding Lobato’s images, whose productions are dated between 1910 and 1940. Analyze photographs requires a succession of imaginary constructions: the circumstances that led to the realization of the image, the photographic fragments embedded in thought, and finally what can not be revealed by chemical processes and what is imagined by images that dream.
