Orbis imagines: A research challenge successfully accomplished?

Abstract

In December 2022 the project “Tres siglos de historia del grabado (XVI-XVIII): estampa y cultura visual en Andalucía y su impacto en el Nuevo Mundo. Nuevos enfoques” organised an International Seminar in the Tourism and Educational Science Faculties of Malaga University entitled La vida en estampas. El grabado en Andalucía en la Edad Moderna y su influencia en América (Life in the engravings of Andalusia in the Modern Age and their influence in America). Several studies were presented —some which are published in this monographic edition— covering a wide variety of subjects related to the graphic art produced in Andalusia in the Modera era as well as the movement to America of particular saintly dedications of holy places through Andalusian engravings. This is one of the scientific activities derived from this project which is complemented with publications and presentations embodied in this text.
