Abstract

ABSTRACT: Gender violence is one more example of inequality suffered by women. Providing prevention and reaction rights, among others, in the workplace interpreted in a broad sense, the suppression of this scourge can be achieved. Hence, progressively more and more equality plans are incorporating content aimed either at raising awareness, or at prevention or, above all, at the socio-labor protection of women victims of gender violence. The main objective pursued by this research is to analyze the treatment of gender violence made by the equality plans approved during the last five years in Spain. For which, we have a sample of 60 equality plans negotiated and agreed with the representatives of the workers and located in the Register of Collective Agreements. The results show that, although it is true that there are many plans that do not treat gender violence and some do so but only superficially, we believe that the fact that about 80% of the equality plans analyzed contemplate some Mention of this scourge should be valued very positively as a reflection of the progressive attention and, therefore, importance of these instruments that, surely, should be the object of clearer coordination at the legal level that prevents a watertight treatment of two realities –the inequality and violence against women– logically and intrinsically connected.
