Abstract
This article discusses the uprising of Miguel Hidalgo in the intendendency of Arizpe, border province of the New Spain. We emphasize t importance that had tthhe soldiers of the presidios in the struggle against the insurgents, which camefrom Nueva Galicia. We show also thathre effort of presidiales soldiers had as consequences the rebellion of the opatas soldiers in 1820 and the linking of the Creole soldiers to the independence movement led by Agustín de Iturbide.
