Abstract
This work aims to show how the late eighteenth century the presence of Catalan in the province of Sonora becomes evident either as missionaries, real or military officials. Special emphasis will be placed on the latter and specifically to the group that was part of the expeditionary army devised by Jose de Galvez, to fight the insumisas tribes. Some of these soldiers, once the expedition and after returning to the Peninsula, but returned to Sonora and other objectives: to establish as neighbors, for which were accompanied by their families.
