AN APPROACH TO PHILOSOPHICAL PRACTICES IN THE INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES

Authors

Abstract

In the following paper, an approach to the notion of philosophical practices within indigenous communities is intended. From an interdisciplinary and intercultural approach, the conditions of indigenous philosophy are analyzed and four categories are proposed to approach its study: a) Symbolic, contradictory and filial thought, b) Anthropomorphic thought, c) Thought based on a relational ontology, and d) Experiential rationality. The intention of these categories is to find general ontological elements that serve as a framework to better understand how community practices, especially community dialogue and medicinal practices, can be considered as philosophical practices that assume generalities of philosophical thought.
