Ethical commitment
Comunicación. Revista Internacional de Comunicación Audiovisual, Publicidad y Estudios Culturales (Communication. International Journal of Audiovisual Communication, Advertising and Cultural Studies)
is committed to scientific and academic quality, which is why guaranteeing such quality is an essential characteristic of its publications. To this end, it declares itself as a journal committed to scientific and academic standards, confirming its ethical and scientific commitment. For this reason, this journal has as a reference the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Code of Conduct and Good Practices defined by the Publications Ethics Committee of the Editorial Universidad de Sevilla.
The ethical commitment that the journal acquires as a scientific publication is given from the beginning to the end of the process, and therefore affects both internal staff, such as the Editorial Board, and external people: authors and reviewers. This declaration of ethics is supported by different practices and participants in the process.
The Editorial Board is responsible for:
1. Selecting those papers that are compatible with the journal's themes and that have a scientific character, thus contributing to the scientific study of communication.
2. To regulate that all manuscripts published have undergone anonymous peer review, based on the utmost confidentiality.
3. To guarantee the maintenance of quality evaluation, based on a detailed and regulated process through instructions that ensure reliable, honest and scientific comments and resolutions.
4. Ensure that all papers are referenced.
5. To ratify that the reviewers chosen will be in accordance with the topics and areas of knowledge of the manuscript submitted to them.
6. Immediately remove the participation of a manuscript in which malpractice, such as plagiarism, has been detected.
Authors are responsible for:
1. Making the declaration of authorship of the manuscript submitted.
2. To make clear the originality of the document, its content and results.
3. To respect the rules of publication, as well as the code of ethics set out herein.
4. Take into account and respect the contributions of the reviewers, applying their proposals whenever necessary.
5. To present the papers under a consensus among the authors of the same.
6. To guarantee that the manuscript is original and that, therefore, while maintaining their authorship rights, they cede the publication of the work to the journal.
Reviewers are responsible for:
1. To follow the instructions given by the journal during the manuscript evaluation process.
2. Maintain the confidentiality of their review.
3. To send the Editorial Committee the evaluation sheet of the work where they will explain their decisions and their comments in a precise manner.
4. Follow scientific quality standards in their decisions, comments and corrections.
