In this article we will compare two short stories by two writers of different nationalities, the British, Doris Lessing and the Spanish Ana María Malute. Both stories are based on the idea of the bedroom as an ambivalent place of creative freedom and seclusion imposed by the others’ oppressive look. There will be a parallel reading of the two texts which will introduce a didactic and pedagogic approach on them.
