Error as a Learning Opportunity in Art Education: a Theoretical Review from the Perspectives of Pedagogy and the Visual Arts

This article proposes a reflection on error as a learning opportunity from the arts, understanding that making mistakes is not a deviation, but an inherent condition of human experience. From scientific logic to pedagogy and artistic creation, error is approached as a driver of knowledge and learning. Based on a theoretical review and educational experiences, it is evident that accepting and working with error, rather than avoiding and punishing it, brings multiple benefits. In arts education, error reveals itself as a fertile space for exploration, where uncertainty, intuition and discovery acquire pedagogical and artistic value. In an era that punishes imperfection with dislikes and rewards the appearance of success, reclaiming the value of error means returning to education and art their most profoundly human dimension: the possibility of beginning.
