Aproximación al concepto de translenguaje y su aplicación en la traducción de textos: el chino como lengua puente

Abstract

 In this paper, we address the concept of translanguage, mainly dedicated to the teaching of foreign languages in bilingual and multilingual environments, and we will apply its versatility to the translation of texts into the German-Spanish language pair by native Chinese. Indeed, the main problem that arises in these situations is that both LO and LM are not the translator’s native language, which inevitably affects the translator’s ability to understand the source text in order to translate correctly. In this sense, the mother tongue, i.e. Chinese, plays a fundamental role as a bridge language for the correct execution of translational activity. In the following pages we will analyse to what extent translanguage can help the translation of texts in these cases.
