For a critical theory of capitalism
Hegel, commodity fetishism and Benjaminian “dreaming”: towards a philosophy of political art.
Keywords:
Commodity fetishism, Experience, Subjectivity, Benjamin, DaydreamAbstract
Starting from the Hegelian Phenomenology of the Spirit we intend to establish a critical path that delves into the current state of the so-called “system of totality”, establishing a comparison between Hegel and the heterodox marxism of an author like György Lukács, also pretending to lay out a critical bridge between this and the Benjaminian category of «dreaminess». Thus, we will outline a kind of ontology of the present that will not fail to point out some epoch signs such as the problematic status of subjectivity and experience or the emancipatory
potential that could reside in art.
