Freedom of the Social Subject
A dialogue between Adorno and Hegel
Keywords:
Colectivity, Frankfurt School, Objective Spirit, German IdealismAbstract
The conceptions of the social subject in Adorno and Hegel are analysed. The starting point is the same idea that underlies the thinking of both authors on the social subject, which is the mediation of consciousness. From this point of departure, we study whether freedom is possible for social subjects according to Adorno and in what sense there is freedom. From the same presupposition, Hegel's answer in his Philosophy of Right is explained. Despite starting from the same idea, their answers will be different, and a comparison between the two authors is done.
