Abstract
We publish below, translated for the first time into Spanish, the two preserved letters written by Vico to Muzio Gaeta. The preserved manuscripts contain neither the recipient nor the date of composition, but from their content, we can deduce that they are responses to two letters that the then Archbishop of Bari, Muzio Gaeta, had sent him on September 28, 1737, and October 5, 1737, respectively. Beyond the specific event, already significant in itself, the importance of the letters lies in Vico’s reference to his youthful work De antiquissima.
