Abstract

the objective of this article is to make a balance historiographical about the concept of borders and how it be employed to understand the Brazilian slave society. In highlighting the most recent historiographical trends, we seek to analyze the role of slavery in the border regions between Portuguese and Spanish possessors, especially in South America.
