Families without men: female heads of houses at the end of the “virreinato” of the Rio de la Plata, Pago de los Arroyos, province of Santa Fe, Argentina

Abstract

This study attempts to present a visible and the variable that took all founding families of political administrative centre of the city of Santa Fe, the Argentine coast. The sources used are rolls, registration ecclesiastical, wills, deeds and assignments, as well as the rereading of texts dealing with known history villagers, local and regional levels.
