Abstract
This paper aims to show how the Mayor in a Frontier Province novohispana, Sonora. Province until 1732 will depend on the government of Nueva Vizcaya, therefore the mayor had the authority to this governor, but for everything depended on the judicial hearing neogallega. This dual rise throughout the eighteenth century many conflicts of interest, which the mayor ran for his own interest and that justice was done dominated by the mayor and that no other authority as mayor of the holy brotherhood or mayors, much less ordinary town. This singularity allowed no discretion to act as the accused Brigadier Pedro de Rivera made when visiting the provinces between 1724 and 1728 internal.
