Abstract
The study of political and cultural history where the press is the main object of reflection has recently renovated the historiography of the processes of independence in Latin America. In this perspective, this research seeks to alert the political debate in the Peruvian press during the juncture of the Cortes de Cádiz. Ideological mutation of political discourse elite ranging from a Constitutionalist reformism to clear a counterrevolutionary trend is seen on this exploration. In other words, local experience in Peru led to the movement of a variety of newspapers and political forms who sought the permanence of the status quo colonial and legitimacy of authority and political order.
