The dispute over the land in the town hall of León during the 16th-18th centuries. The case of the Indian territories

Abstract

In Mexico the fight for land during the colonial time is, perhaps, the most well documented socioeconomic phenomenon. Endless legal processes generated and have been kept as in the National General Archive. However, the study of history about the fight for land in the region of Leon is practically nonexistent, therefore, this article pretends to contribute with some considerations that constitute a starting point for new research about the topic.
