Abstract
The strained events which took place in August of the year 1808 in Cartagena de Indias were due to the mistrut of commissione of Junta de Sevilla and to the suspicion of the memters ofthe City Hall (Cabildo) that did not admit that institution. The unfortunate intervention of the “virrey” also affected these events.
