Abstract

The province of Corrientes was the only area of the Argentine Republic to witness the depredations of the 1864-1870 Paraguayan War. The confrontations between the Allied and Paraguayan armies fell hard on the Correntino people, and the Paraguayan invasion had significant consequences for the political future of the province.
