Clothes, masculinity and civilitation. The clothing of men in Córdoba (Argentina), XIX century

Abstract

In this paper we propose to build a picture of the dress of men in the city of Cordoba, in the XIX century by the analysis of postmortem inventories. We are interested in identifying changes and continuities over time and understanding of the meanings constructed around clothing. Our proposal aims to transcend the description of the forms of dress and approach the meanings constructed in the interaction of men and his dress in certain contexts.
