Abstract
Despite its marginal nature, the Mayan peninsula achieved to be included on the Atlantic trade routes at the end of the 16th century. The current research, based on a socio economic approach, analyses the trade traffic between Seville and Yucatan between 1606 and 1610; and its main purpose is to know who were the main characters of the trade in Yucatan and to which social class they were members of.
