Abstract
The new strategies of urban control implemented in Cuba since the government of the “Conde de Ricla” (1763-1765) involved the creation of a new authority figure, the “comisario de barrio”,who had increased power to control the population's daily life, principally thanks to the closeness they have to the neighbours, as they were one of them. His new assignements would help to increase the surveillance, and so, problems controlling resident’s daily behaviour could be tackled.
