Andean religiosity and doctrinal sources. Considerations about the evangelizer context of ornamental iconography development in colonial Chucuito

Abstract

We will approach the reading and analysis of councils, synods and chronicles written during the XVI and XVII centuries in the Viceroyalty of Peru, since they reveal the way the doctrinal speech was modified over the decades, tolerating traditions of Andean religion, which are interesting to examine the evangelizer context of the ornamental iconography developed in the XVII and XVIII centuries in southern Peru churches.
